Yesterday evening, the author saw in the Hualin Road, Hualin Economic Development Zone, Chengxiang District that the LED street lights on both sides of the road were emitting soft and bright light. At the end of last month, the economic and trade department of the district organized a number of workers to remove the original 266-inch ordinary high-pressure sodium lamp streetlights and replace them with LED street lights (pictured). This section became the first LED street light demonstration street in the city.

It is understood that the LED light source is the fourth generation of light source, which has the characteristics of power saving, large illumination and long service life. A common high-pressure sodium lamp street lamp consumes 1 kWh per hour, and after switching to an LED street lamp, it can save more than 70% per hour. And the light is brighter, the light is softer, and pedestrians feel better. In order to speed up the promotion and application of outdoor lighting for LED street lamps, the district timely introduced support measures to first include Hualin Road, a 2.3-kilometer-long Hualin Economic Development Zone, in the LED demonstration transformation, replacing all the original 266-250-watt sodium lamps with 80 watts. LED street lights, the total cost of the project is about 800,000 yuan. After the replacement, the demonstration street can save 65 tons of standard coal and save electricity costs by nearly 200,000 yuan.

According to reports, after the completion of the city's first LED energy-saving lamps and lighting demonstration street, the district will continue to build more LED energy-saving lamps and lighting streets in the main urban area to promote energy-saving emission reduction work.
