Qian Guanrong: Application of LED Light Sources and Lamps in Industrial Lighting

In recent years, the application range of semiconductor lighting has become wider and wider. LED lamps have entered the interior from the outdoors, from landscape lighting, road lighting, to interior lighting and functional lighting for civil buildings, and are now moving toward industrial lighting .

First, emphasize the functionality

Compared with other lighting, industrial lighting emphasizes more functionality, requires higher technical indicators of lighting, and has higher requirements for environmental adaptability and visual efficacy. In lighting design, the most basic indicator is illumination, and the illumination requirements of some industrial sites are as follows:

It can be seen that the illumination requirements of industrial buildings are very wide, ranging from tens, hundreds or even thousands of lux. Illuminated space is very complicated: outdoor lighting space petrochemical, pharmaceutical industry 11:50, pipes, yard feed processing enterprises and the like; plant tall steel industry, the electronic assembly plant factory indoor lighting. LED lighting needs to choose different light source power combinations and lamp types according to the above different illumination and space.

Second, the environment is complex and diverse lighting options

Another feature of industrial buildings: complex environments and harsh conditions. Therefore, different types of lamps should be selected according to various environmental conditions of the lighting place:

1. In wet places, waterproof lamps with corresponding protection levels or open lamps with waterproof caps should be used;

2. In places with corrosive gases or steam, anti-corrosion sealed lamps should be used. If open luminaires are used, all parts shall be protected against corrosion or water;

3. In places with dust, select appropriate lamps according to the corresponding protection level of dustproof;

4. In places where there is a need for clean space, clean lamps that are not easy to be dusty and easy to wipe should be used;

5. In high temperature places, it is advisable to use lamps with good heat dissipation and high temperature resistance;

6. Lamps used in places that are susceptible to mechanical damage and light source falling off may cause personal injury or property damage should have protective measures;

7. Luminaires used in large vibration places such as forging hammers and large bridge cranes should have anti-vibration and anti-shedding measures;

8. In places where ultraviolet radiation is to be prevented, a violet light source or a purple light source should be used.

The IP (INGRESS PROTECTION) protection level system was drafted by the IEC to classify electrical appliances according to their dust and moisture resistance characteristics. The IP protection level consists of two numbers. The first number indicates the level at which the lamp is isolated from dust and the intrusion of foreign objects. The second number indicates the degree of airtightness of the lamp against moisture and water intrusion. The larger the number, the higher the degree of protection. High (refer to the corresponding electrical manual for details).

Third, LED products are used in industrial lighting

LED light source and lamp have the characteristics of low voltage power supply, small size, light weight, and the lamp can be completely enclosed and installed. Therefore, it can be widely used in many places mentioned above.

The illumination source of the three-proof lamp is generally a compact fluorescent lamp (LED is now also available). The lamp body is made of ABS material, and the lamp body is closely combined with the lamp cover to have functions such as waterproof, dustproof and anti-corrosion. It is suitable for high-precision places, such as pharmaceutical factories, food processing plants, and other places where purification sites and harsh environments are required (see Table 3, Figure 1).
