Hong Kong University of Science and Technology LED R&D Center Landing Shishan New Light Source Industry Base

On March 29, the reporter learned from the Nanhai Economic Promotion Bureau of Foshan City that the LED-FPD Engineering Technology Research and Development Center of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Shishan Town Government formally signed a strategic partnership agreement to plan to enter the new light source industry base in the future.

The LED-FPD Engineering Technology Research and Development Center of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, which was signed with the Shishan Town Government, is an engineering center jointly established by the Nanhai District Government and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. It aims to provide R&D and technical support for the LED industry. When choosing the R&D center, the new light source industry base focusing on the LED industry has become the best choice.

According to Zhou Peishan, deputy head of Nanhai District, since 2009, Nanhai has proposed to build an internationally competitive LED industry cluster. Since then, the LED industry has introduced a total investment of more than 10 billion yuan, driving private enterprises to invest more than 3 billion yuan. More than 300 LED lighting companies, of which the output value in 2012 exceeded 8 billion, ranking the forefront of the province.
