In the traditional solar street lamp system, the solar panel is usually directly connected to the battery through the anti-current pouring diode, which will result in low utilization efficiency of the solar panel, and at the same time, it is easy to make the battery under-filled for a long time, resulting in a reduction in service life. Based on the research of solar cell circuit model, this paper proposes a Maxim Power Point Tracking (MPPT) strategy for digital-analog mixing, which can maximize the use of solar energy and drive circuit for solid-state light source LED . The research was done, and the efficiency and practicability of the scheme were verified by experiments.
I. Introduction
With the development of solid-state light sources, the application of LEDs is no longer limited to the field of indicator lights. It has become increasingly superior in modern lighting systems due to its long life and high luminous efficiency. Along with the development of photovoltaic technology, high-power high-brightness LEDs have further aroused widespread concern of the light source in various circles of society due to their high efficiency and energy saving. However, at present, LED solar street lamps still have shortcomings such as LED light decay due to the lamp driving circuit and low solar energy utilization rate. The industry generally believes that the constant current drive of LEDs has a significant effect on suppressing light decay.
In the traditional solar street lamp charging system, the solar panel is usually directly connected to the battery through a current-proof reverse-flow diode, which causes the working point of the solar panel to be offset from the maximum power point (Maxim Power Point (MPP)), and the solar panel is not effectively utilized. It can output power; at the same time, it is easy for the battery to be under-filled for a long time due to insufficient energy supply, resulting in a shortened life. Based on the research of solar cell circuit model, this paper analyzes the maximum power tracking (MPP) method such as constant voltage tracking [1], disturbance observation [2, 3], and proposes a digital-analog mixed MPPT strategy. It stabilizes the output of the solar cell near the MPP, effectively utilizing the maximum power that the solar panel can output.
