Xu Daqian, general manager of Dongfeng Light Engine Co., Ltd. replied: “Actually, we experienced four years of study, practice and accumulation, and ultimately we have our own core power.” Xu Daqian introduced that in 2005, in order to improve the Dongfeng Limited Engine product structure and improve the core competitiveness of light trucks and light commercial vehicles, Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. introduced Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.'s ZD30 diesel engine with the latest technology to local production in Shiyan. On January 1, 2006, the Dongfeng Limited, Dongfeng Corporation, and Nissan three parties jointly deployed technical personnel and established the “ZD30 project preparation room” of Dongfeng Limited Ministerial Level Department, which is dedicated to promoting the localization of the ZD30 engine. On November 3, 2008, “ZD30 Project Preparation Room” fulfilled its functions and Dongfeng Light Engine Co., Ltd. was formally established. Soon, the first domestically produced trial production engine, the ZD30, went offline.

In the past year, Dongfeng has been able to achieve its goals with great success and hard work.
